Andrew was a family historian and passed a lot of history on to his children, particularly Jon who told me many stories on this web site. He also was a town spokesman. After WW2 he led a group of townspeople to the Russian administrators and threatened to move the town west if Lekart was made part of the USSR (Ukrania) as planned). Lekart was kept in Slovakia on the Ukrain border. He must have drank a lot with a Russian General who whold tell him when the boarder guards would be patrolling so that the women could sheek into Uzgrad (Ukrania) to sell their farm products.
